Three Great IPhone Photography Apps

Three Great IPhone Photography Apps
There are so many great photography apps on the market for the iPhone that it can be daunting task to decide which one to download. Here are three apps that will make your iPhone photography a lot more fun and take it to the next level.

AfterFocus

The beauty of this app is in its simplicity. AfterFocus is a great little app that does one thing really well. It allows you to alter the focus of the image after the fact. Blurring out the distracting background using this app is easy and your photos will look better for it. This app will let you mimic the look of shallow depth of field. To get the shallow depth of field look you mark out the foreground and the background or use the smart function and the app will blur the background for you. There are lots of options such as changing the amount of the blur and the aperture shape. It’s a fun little app that’s inexpensive and easy to use.

SKRWT

If you love your iPhone photos but can’t quite get round to loving the lens and perspective distortion that is a result of the tiny focal length of the lens, then this app is for you. This app will correct those pesky distortions in a non-destructive way. The edits to your photo are only applied once you have saved the image, which means that you don’t have to worry about losing your original photo.
After loading your photo you use a dial to dial in your settings. Tapping on the edge of the dial will make smaller adjustments and allow you a little more control. This app will help you straightens horizon lines, barrel distortion and allows you to crop to different aspect ratios. If you have an olloclip lens then this is a great companion app that will help you get the best out of your shots. SKRWT is a great little app if you want to edit these things on the go rather than uploading to your image editor.

VSCO Cam

VSCO Cam is a free app that is a camera app with editing tools and filters. The camera part of the app gives you features such as a white balance lock and a rule of thirds grid.
VSCO Cam’s filters are nice to use and are not overdone. They are made to look like traditional film. The filters can be adjusted in strength to suit your taste so can be as minimal as you like. Additional filters can be bought from inside the app in the store section in the menu.
The app has several editing tools such as brightness, contrast, crop, temperature, tint and grain etc. All in all it’s a nice little app to use.

All that is left now is for the photographer in you to get out of the house and get creative!
Enjoy your creativity!
